My daughter Elizabeth has worked with Angelique from Brighter Options from the beginning of 2019, through her first NDIS Plan. This plan was a very important one for her as half way through her plan Elizabeth finished year 12 and we had no idea how to proceed into the world of employment.
When Elizabeth’s plan rolled out we met with several School Leaver Employment Skills (SLES) providers and were disappointed on each occasion, as they were all very unclear as to how the SLES component would be run and many wanted to throw Elizabeth into a group situation where she would learn numeracy, travel training and work skills. This was of concern to us as Elizabeth’s goal to be a teacher aide was not something that would be shared by many others (if any) in a group. Thankfully we were introduced to Angelique who had experience working in SLES in NSW. There began a wonderful and productive working relationship for Elizabeth. In my opinion, this has been the most crucial part of her NDIS Plan. Angelique has been able to assist Elizabeth in building so many work skills in the 8 months that they have worked together. Already in this short time, Elizabeth has learnt to catch public transport under the watchful eye of Angelique. Angelique has worked with Elizabeth to determine what it is that Elizabeth wants to do for employment. Once that was established, Angelique set on a path to fulfil Elizabeth’s wishes to work and arranged work experience for Elizabeth at a gymnastics centre in the cafe (as Elizabeth is a passionate gymnast), then at the local Woolworths store and most recently at a State School where Elizabeth is learning the ropes as a Teacher Aide.
Since Angelique has come along she has built the most wonderful rapport with Elizabeth. Elizabeth has blossomed and her confidence grows week by week. She is doing so well in her pursuit to obtain part time employment and Angelique continually creates these opportunities for her. I would have no hesitation recommending Brighter Options to assist anyone who wants to build work skills and support to help them get the job they want. Angelique is the most wonderful advocate and genuinely loves seeing her client’s dreams become a reality.
Our relationship with Angelique began when our son, Liam finished school in 2015. Over the past 5 years she has been a major influence in his life. Angelique supported Liam to successfully obtain his Learner Driver’s Permit as well as securing and supporting him in a number of work experience positions. She very quickly identified Liam’s strengths and weaknesses and supported him accordingly to ensure that he achieved positive outcomes.
With the introduction of the NDIS, Angelique has been an integral part of Liam’s success in his first job at Woolworths where she supports him in the many different tasks he is required to undertake during his shift. Angelique also supports Liam to build positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
Angelique is well connected within the industry and provides comprehensive service coordination ensuring Liam has options so that he can make informed choices that will maximise his opportunities. Angelique’s understanding of Liam goes beyond just meeting his needs; she is caring and nurturing while being assertive when faced with challenges.
Angelique’s advocacy and support for Liam has enabled him to achieve success in the workplace, gain confidence in his ability and develop vital communication skills. It is with confidence and enthusiasm that we recommend Angelique and Brighter Options for workplace support.

We were referred to Brighter Options by some close friends after a not so great experience with another SLES provider.
From the very beginning of our communications, Angelique was upfront, honest and open and made us feel at ease with how things would proceed.
Over the past 18 months our daughter Casey has been able to explore her interests, skills and work through work readiness training and tasks. She has been able to research various study options and sample several different work experience opportunities. Throughout this time her confidence and skill set has grown enormously. We are excited to see how things will progress with the handover to DES and hopefully Casey can achieve her goal of gaining paid employment.

I feel so blessed to have Angelique working with my son since he started to transition from Year 12 into the workforce, which seemed very overwhelming at the time.

My son was able to secure employment through a traineeship, his confidence grew along with his self-esteem. Angelique was there walking beside him every step of the way overcoming any challenges or obstacles with unyielding support and encouragement.
My son has now completed a Certificate III in IT alongside his traineeship and has been offered further advancement in his employment. He is over the moon and can now see a career path ahead of him. Angelique’s dedication has been unwavering. Her passion and knowledge working with school leavers shines through. From helping my son choose his shoes for the interview to working with him to sort out a budget with his first pay.
